ST Cassiopeiae is a carbon star located in the Cassiopeia constellation.

ST Cassiopeiae (ST Cas) is the small red star located in the center of the image. This star is listed in the SIMBAD database as being spectral type C-N5 and it has the deep red hue characteristic of a carbon star.

The magnitude of ST Cassiopeiae is 11.6 in the V band. The most recently measured distance from ST Cas to earth is 0.5122 parsecs (1.6705 light years), which makes it one of the closer stars to us.

This star was included in the 1893 publication "Stars having peculiar spectra" by Fleming W.P.
