VX Andromedae is a carbon star in located in the Andromeda constellation.

VX Andromedae is the small red star in the middle of the image. This is a carbon star listed in SIMBAD as having the stellar type C-J4.5.

Visually, VX Andromedae has the characteristic deep red hue of a carbon star. At magnitude 7.8 the star it is too faint to be seen by the naked eye, so a telescope is required to observe this star.

VX Andromedae is estimated as being 622.3937 parsecs away, which is around 2029.976 light years from Earth.
