The Crab Nebula is a famous nebula located in the constellation Taurus.
Messier 1 is the leftover remnant of a supernova. The actual supernova event (an exploding star) was recorded by Chinese astronomers in 1054.
This is a narrowband image consisting of Ha, OIII and SII data. Due to rather poor sky conditions it took a lot of processing to get the final version to this point. The data is also noisy and has a number of odd aritfacts scattered throughout. Still though, its not too bad for a first try at M1 so I decided to post it to the website anyway.
