Messier 13 is large, bright globular cluster found in the Hercules constellation.
This image is my first try using the 8300M LRGB camera on the Televue NP101is refractor. It was taken from my backyard in the city under a nearly full moon. The color filter set was used to capture luminence and individual color frames. Once the individual frames were complete they were stacked and processed to produce the composite color image.
The color balance is a bit off on this image. The KAF-8300 image sensor does not have a constant response across the color band. Red and green tend to be stronger and blue comes in a bit weak. This image was not color balanced and due to the stronger red and green signals, the cluster came out more gold or yellow looking than it should have.
